In Genetech P.S. I am exploring the subject of genetic modification. My characters are a husband and wife team. Both brilliant, both scientists, both Aussie. The reader will follow their journey from young childhood where they demonstrate a precocious interest in the natural world, to university where they meet and fall in love through to their work on a globally important project to save humanity from extinction when our food production collapses. Marietta wins a Nobel Prize, and then Damian and her explore a more permanent solution to the food crisis which involves modifying the human genetic code - and that is where the story gets interesting and terrifying at the same time.
I studied botanic and land management and Macquarie University, and I've made my university the home of our heroes (or villains depending on your point of view) and they travel their lives through parts of the world I know and places I want to visit.
I think fans of science fiction will enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
